FPPK Launches Its New Article Series: First, The Child

First, The Child is a blog series developed by FPPK to explore the school’s progressive approach to education. The school’s curriculum incorporates many elements of proven learning methods that work and that children love—Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Waldorf, and Bank Street.

  • Play-based learning: Children need to play. Through play-based learning, children develop and practice various skills, including social and emotional growth, language development, math skills, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creative innovation, and confidence. They will take these lessons with them throughout their lives.

  • Small class sizes: We put our children first. Learning flourishes when small class sizes allow teachers and their assistants to give each child the attention they need.

  • Personalized learning: Not all children learn at the same pace, so our teachers meet our children where they are. Our small classes enable our teachers to guide each child on their timeline to keep them on track.

  • Prepared environment: Our well-equipped classrooms, welcoming playground, children’s garden and library, and large gymnasium spark joy in our children and excite them to learn.

  • Qualified teachers: We put children first, and our skilled teachers support them every step of the way. They are experts in observing, guiding, and modeling mutual respect as our children grow physically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
