FPPK Teacher Spotlight: Julie Lev

Our Teacher Spotlight section highlights one of our dedicated teachers or staff members at FPPK.

Julie Lev is our dedicated kindergarten teacher at FPPK. She has been guiding young minds for 15 years. Julie continues to inspire and nurture young learners daily through stories, games and exploration. She has experience working with all types of learners and supports children in cherishing similarities and differences amongst the community.

Her students' enthusiasm for learning fuels Julie's passion for teaching. She enjoys witnessing their excitement as they unlock the joys of reading, express their ideas through writing, and explore the world around them.

Julie loves to see her students engage with stories, connect with characters, and share their own experiences. She helps them capture their thoughts through words and illustrations and sees them gain a sense of accomplishment when they read their stories aloud.

Her Approach

Julie believes it's important to teach children from a young age the importance of accepting children with differences. She believes positive experiences, brief discussions, and role-modeling, can help children see the many similarities and strengths of children who may, at first, seem different.

This philosophy aligns with the way our school celebrates diversity and supports children and their families from various backgrounds. Julie appreciates this inclusive community as a parent and teacher who is dedicated to helping children grow emotionally, socially, and academically.

Experience

Julie began her teaching career in England, where she spent three years nurturing young learners. She then moved to the United States and taught for six more years before bringing her expertise and passion to FPPK.

Her journey with our school began as a parent, and she also served as the FPPK Librarian before transitioning to her current role in 2011. Julie holds a Bachelor's degree in Education from Westminster College, Oxford.

Her Personal Life

Outside of the classroom, Julie spends her free time outdoors hiking, camping, and kayaking.
