FPPK Teacher Spotlight: Sharon Cajas

Our Teacher Spotlight section highlights one of our dedicated teachers or staff members at FPPK.

Sharon Cajas is a seasoned educator with a wealth of experience that she brings to her new role as lead teacher in our 3-year-old class at FPPK. She is excited to have joined the FPPK family and looks forward to leading our school's next generation of students.

Her Approach

Sharon's classroom is a warm, inviting place where learning and fun go hand in hand. She’s made it a safe, supportive environment for children and our families. “Preschoolers are wonderful little human beings who keep me young at heart, put a smile on my face, and consistently motivate me to do my best,” she says.

Experience

While this is her first year teaching at FPPK, Sharon has over 10 years of experience working with preschoolers and has familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach. She will be the first to tell you that she loves what she does. Sharon feels that early childhood education is a beautiful journey, and she treasures the moments created by young minds.

Her Personal Life

Sharon wears many hats outside of school: She’s a mom, a devoted New York Mets and New York Giants fan, and a cheerleading coach. She loves hiking and taking long walks with her family and her dog, Charlie, in her free time.

First Presbyterian Preschool and Kindergarten (FPPK) serves children from 2.5 years to Kindergarten. We offer each child the care and compassion they need to become confident and engaged lifelong learners. It's where they start that helps them finish.
